Even though she's only 2 months old, Grace is starting to master certain skills. For example, her ability to move from burp position to feeding position has gone from a tentative roll to a full-on daredevil trust fall.
There's only one problem with her technique. Like Derek Zoolander, she can't turn to the left.
Up until this week, Grace has only attempted her stunt flips by diving to her right, the side that she gets fed on. She's becoming more curious about the world though, more driven by a need for exploration, so she's started feeling out this mysterious left. Her journey, however, was an exercise in frustration. She'd strain, she'd shimmy, she'd thrash, she'd lunge, but all to no avail, this mysterious left remained an undiscovered country. That is, until yesterday.
We were visiting Carrie's family and I was holding Grace when it happened. Suddenly, without warning, she debuted the long rumored Blue Steel! A picture perfect left side dive, amazing her adoring audience.
On an unrelated note, I know that the outfit Grace is wearing in the video is insane. That's on purpose. Carrie and I thought it would be a good idea to introduce Grace to every color all at once.
