My little girl is a habitual spinner. Whenever she lies down, whether awake or asleep, she shifts and shimmys around, which isn't all that strange on its own. What's bizzare is her spin pattern.
First, in a massive departure from her Zoolander/Magnum days, she only turns to her left. Stranger (and invalidating the title of this article), she only spins 90 degrees, no more no less. Last, and strangest still, she only shifts herself if she's lying longways in the proper position inside her crib, pack and play or playset in order to reorient herself sideways across the narrowest part of the surface.
Almost totally sleep-spun. |
I assume it's just a stage and once she gets more control over her body she'll be more comfortable lying normally. If it's not, I think I have a solution. I'm going to get her a perfectly square bed, so that there's no narrow way to lay.
